Engine oil is the lifeblood of your vehicle, but a proper oil service should accomplish more than simply replacing oil and installing a new filter. At Bavarian Werk Shop, every oil service is an opportunity to maintain the engine correctly and evaluate the overall condition of the vehicle.
European engines operate under demanding conditions. Turbocharging, high operating temperatures, variable valve timing, sophisticated emissions systems, and extended service intervals place significant demands on engine oil. Using the correct oil specification is therefore just as important as changing it at the appropriate interval. We select oil and filters based on the requirements of the specific vehicle rather than treating every European automobile the same.
Our oil service includes a comprehensive Digital Vehicle Inspection, or DVI. The DVI provides a clear picture of the vehicle’s condition at the time of service. Depending on the vehicle, we inspect tires, brakes, suspension components, visible fluid leaks, belts, hoses, fluid condition, underbody components, lighting, and other items relevant to safety, reliability, and upcoming maintenance.
Documentation is an important part of the process. A DVI creates a useful baseline that helps us monitor developing conditions over time. A small leak, worn bushing, aging tire, or other concern may not require immediate repair, but documenting it allows us to compare its condition during future visits.
This approach is particularly valuable for owners who intend to keep their vehicles long term. Routine oil services become checkpoints in the vehicle’s maintenance history, allowing preventative needs to be identified before they develop into larger repairs.
At Bavarian Werk Shop, an oil service is not simply an oil change. It is one of the most important opportunities we have to understand your vehicle, maintain its engine correctly, and help you plan for the miles ahead.
